Master

The masters, while the smallest ranking within the craft, make up the backbone of the structure of the Starsmith hall. They are responsible for the education of apprentices and journeyman to varying degrees, as well as making new discoveries in the hall. Many masters end up posted to Holds and Weyrs, though those in the weather subcraft are typically the most likely to leave. Most masters will have as many as four journeyman assigned to them at one time, and it is their duty to see to their 'aides' education as well as their own research. As well, all masters are required to teach at least one class on their topic (extenuating circumstances considered) and to oversee any number of projects at one time. However, a master can turn down a journeyman or apprentice at any time for whatever reason, and only the Craftmaster or Craftsecond has power over that decision.
